(Geospatial Research Scientist)
I am a Geospatial Research Scientist at the Geospatial Research Facility and pursing a dual MS in Geology and Geographic Information Sciences at Michigan Technological University. I have a diverse academic background comprised of a dual BA in Psychology and Gender Studies from Lawrence University (2004) and a BS in Geology from the University of Texas at Austin (2016). I was the first Geoscientist-in-the-Park (GIP) for Isle Royale and Keweenaw Historical National Parks (2017), focused on constructing Geoheritage Story Maps for the National Parks Service. Synthesizing my passion for Great Lakes Geology, Keweenaw Geoheritage, and Geographic Information Sciences (GIS), my research interests include coastal geomorphology of the Great Lakes, geologic mapping in the Keweenaw Peninsula, GPS and GIS data collection, web-based data dissemination and application construction, geostatistical analysis, and collaborative, interdisciplinary GIS project management.
