Bob Cowling
(GIS Data Librarian)

​I am the GIS Data Librarian at the Geospatial Research Facility. My educational background includes a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an M.S. in Cartography and GIS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My main areas of focus at the GRF are geospatial data management and dissemination. I am interested in the development of GIS web-applications for the discovery of historical geographic items such as old maps, atlases, and aerial photography. I am always exploring innovative and new ways that we can make current and historic GIS data available to users.
